The new Larnaca airport terminal is built to the west of the existing airport which rumors says that it will be replaced by an airport hotel, a conference center and a shopping mall. The new airport opening ceremony is on November 11th.

Mackenzie Beach is well known for its beautiful white sandy beach and refreshing waters. Here you can enjoy the water sports facilities, which include scuba diving. Less than a five minute drive from Larnaca airport, Mackenzie Beach offers a great choice of Cyprus restaurants famous for their Cyprus cuisine and fresh fish. You can also find numerous cafes and pubs.
To the north of Larnaca airport, you can find the salt lake which during the raining season is visited by folks of flamingos, which pass the winter from Cyprus. By the shores of the lake, you can find benches where you can sit and enjoy the view of the lake, the flamingos and other migrant birds.
Further north, between the salt lake and a small forest, you can find the mosque of Oum Hara, which is a complex made up of a mosque, a mausoleum and a minaret. It's believed to be one of the holiest sites for Islam and the most important location for Muslims in Cyprus.
